Emsleys trains 12 Mental Health First Aiders
Twelve members of our team have trained to become Mental Health First Aiders on an accredited two day course.
The 12 volunteers learnt about mental health problems such as anxiety and depression on the Mental Health First Aid course delivered by the social enterprise Community Links Training at the end of November.
The practical skills-based course covered the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and the appropriate way in which to respond. Participants also learnt about the risk factors and the treatments and support available.
Head of HR Corinne Pujara commented: “Mental health issues are far more common now than physical health issues within the workplace therefore promoting wellbeing for our employees is of particular importance at Emsleys. It is hoped that by having Mental Health First Aiders in and around the workplace we will be able to pick up on any early warning signs of someone who may be suffering with stress or any other mental illness.”
