Moldovan convoy success
Our convoy volunteers have returned to the office after delivering aid in Moldova over the last two weeks.
Trainee Solicitor Alice Waddell and Litigation Executive Jim Clark drove almost 4,000 miles as they transported and delivered aid to one of the poorest countries in Europe.
The volunteers delivered essential aid to organisations and institutions including: washing machines to a sports institute where 500 children live on site; cleaning products, nappies and toiletries to a centre for disabled children; and toys, clothes, school bags and stationery to a local school. They also made deliveries to a children’s hospital and several vulnerable families’ homes in addition to providing clothing to around 20 families in a Moldovan village.
Alice commented: “This has been one of the best and most challenging experiences I have had the privilege of taking part in. Having never driven a van nor driven abroad before, this convoy was going to be completely out of my comfort zone. However it turns out the drive, although gruelling, was the easiest part of the trip… the highlight being the friendships and connections I have made. It has been a trip I will never forget.”
