You may be in a position where you need someone to clarify and explain the ownership of your property (where there are two or more owners) so you can make the right decisions to protect your investment and share in a property. Joint ownership can be surprisingly complex and you need to understand how this might affect you. You may be embarking on a home purchase as husband and wife, cohabitees or civil partners.
You may be in a situation where you are separating from a partner, or perhaps there has been a change in your personal circumstances, or the death of a partner, or you simply want to buy out a share of the other owner of the property. Whatever the situation, you need to understand the different forms of ownership, for example joint tenants or tenants in common, and you need the right advice to ensure you protect your assets.
We have vast experience in all matters related to the buying and selling of properties. We will take time to understand your individual situation and needs, provide the right advice and solutions to meet those needs, whilst advising you about any issues we might anticipate.
If contentious issues arise at any stage of your property ownership, we have our own specialist Wills & Probate and Property Disputes teams on hand. We always adopt a flexible approach when working with our clients, so whether you want to see us in person at our offices or your home or place of work, speak on the phone or progress matters by email, we can work in the way which best suits you. We are clear and transparent from the outset on our costs and the timescales in which we expect to undertake the transaction.
